Your first concert, demystified

No dress code, no gatekeeping, no homework. Here’s everything people are afraid to ask.

The honest FAQ

What do I wear?

Whatever you like. Jeans sit next to jackets at every concert. Some people dress up because it’s fun, not because it’s required.

When do I clap?

When you’re moved. The traditional pause between movements trips everyone up once. Nobody is grading you, and the orchestra has heard it all.

How long does it last?

About two hours with an intermission. Pre-concert talks start one hour early if you want the story behind the music.

Can I bring kids?

Yes — and for the youngest, LolliPops concerts are built for wiggling. Holiday Pops and Picnic Pops are family favorites.
